Three weeks have passed after the last two races in Estoril. Three weeks in which Lennox’s injury could heal. Directly after the Estoril weekend Lennox went to the hospital. An MRI should be made of the shoulder. To see what consequences the fall in the warm up had for him. Is there a threat of a forced break or perhaps an operation? After days then finally the certainty – the ligaments remained intact. The shoulder only needs to be rested, but not operated on.
The Freudenberg team left it up to him to decide whether he wanted to compete in Misano or not. Lennox decided in favor. He went to Misano to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. The shoulder had already recovered somewhat, but seemed as if the crash was still stuck in his head. The thought of aggravating the current injury seemed to gnaw at Lennox. The lightness had diminished and had to be worked for again. It took, and somehow it seemed that it took the scare in the first race at Misano for the lightness to return.
On the second lap, Lennox crashed and retired. He was involved in a racing accident with wildcard rider Mattia Martella. A normal racing accident but still a scare as Lennox was hit in the back by another rider. Fortunately, his airbag had already opened. The KTM rider left the gravel bed upright and was immediately taken to the medical center for a brief check. All-clear. Lennox had not re-injured himself, even though he had held his arm shortly after the accident.
The next day for the second race, everything was back to square one. Lennox showed again what he can do. Even if it went from starting position 20 (the previous day it was starting position 21, by a failure he moved forward) into the race, Lennox could show his class. After initial traffic he fought his way up to the leading group. The lightness was back. Lennox drove up freely again. After many maneuvers he crossed the finish line in fifth place. Unfortunately he disregarded the track limits, so he was demoted one place. Despite this a very good result. Next weekend Lennox will go to the IDM in Most. To collect kilometers and to regain the lightness further.
