MotoGP Misano I: What a season?

Eine ganz andere Saison

What a season? Without the crowds, with an injured Marc Marquez and a world championship that couldn’t be any tighter.
Nine MotoGP riders currently have a chance of becoming world champions. They are all so close together that just one victory can upset everything. In six races there have been five different winners. Four of them have won for the first time in MotoGP. It is a season that is fun. The 2020 season is varied and breathtaking.

The question I still have to ask myself – what happens when Marc Marquez comes back? He will not be injured forever. What will happen then? Will we see a dominance of Marquez? Or will it continue to be so varied?
But one thing is definitely certain, things will be better for Honda. Honda without Marc Marquez, does not work. Since Marquez was injured, the Japanese manufacturer is not working at all. It almost seems as if the bike only works with one rider. The other Honda riders are struggling on. Honda has lost its dominance, maybe it will come back with Marc Marquez. But I would like it to remain this exciting. We have had enough dominance over the last few years.

The races in Misano, also experienced a kind of dominance. In a different, very positive way. Misano developed into a show race for Valentino Rossi’s protégés. Rossi, with his Academy and with his VR46 team, has brought up the new Italian MotoGP generation. Double victory in Moto2 with Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi. In MotoGP Franco Morbidelli won ahead of Francesco Bagnaia. Both protégés of Valentino Rossi.

The Yamaha rider passes on his knowledge, experience and passion to the younger generation, and he experiences an upswing through them. This season you can see how happy the old champion feels. You would almost think that he will be riding in MotoGP for the next ten years. Rossi has his enthusiasm back again. Today the Yamaha factory rider was still in second place for a long time and had to admit defeat at the end of the race. Was Valentino Rossi disappointed? No, it drives him.

This season is different and that’s good. MotoGP 2020, is fun.
